Baseball in Australia and on the Gold Coast is a sport on the rise. This is largely due to a number of factors, namely the investment and time that coaches are putting into the game, along with the tremendous National and International coverage of the games played at the highest level in the Australian Baseball League. Coincidentally, or perhaps not so coincidentally, the Brisbane Bandits have just won the ABL title for 2016.

Several of the members of the 2016 Bandits team are from the Gold Coast, and have worked their way through the club ranks to where they are now at the pinnacle of their Australian careers, and ready to make the leap to participate in International baseball.

About Us

I mention this, as this is the fundamental reason for the request for fundraising support from people such as yourselves.

The Gold Coast Pirates Junior League (U14) Baseball team is that next wave of players that will most definitely have the chance to become the future Brisbane Bandits players. Many of these kids have already represented Queensland in their school age groups. This team is truly multicultural, with representation from Australia, Japan, Taiwan and South Africa.

However, in order to achieve these long term goals, they need to participate in competitions that support and encourage the growth of their skills, both in the physical and mental sense.

The highlight of the Junior League U14 year is the Australian Junior League Championships , which will be held in May 2016 in Adelaide, South Australia. Our Pirates team has qualified for this event through their accomplishments at the State titles, as can be seen by their team photo above.

However, with this opportunity comes unfortunately rather steep costs of getting the team down to Adelaide and equipping them for the tournament.
